Salon Assistant / Jr.Stylist

Originally from Durham, North Carolina, Nicira Shields has called Winston-Salem home since 2022. Her passion for beauty and self-expression has been evident for as long as she can remember.

As a child, Nicira loved playing dress-up and experimenting with different outfits and hairstyles—so much so that her mother jokingly made a rule that she couldn’t change clothes more than three times a day. As she grew older, she spent countless hours watching YouTube tutorials, teaching herself new hairstyles and techniques. That curiosity and dedication to learning became the foundation of her journey into the beauty industry.

During high school, Nicira began practicing hairstyles on herself and her best friend. Seeing the confidence and excitement her work brought to others, along with the encouragement she received from family and friends, confirmed that hairstyling was more than just a hobby—it was her calling.

After graduating from high school, Nicira attended the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, where she earned her bachelor’s degree. While proud of that accomplishment, she knew there was still a passion she wanted to pursue. In 2024, she took a leap of faith and enrolled in cosmetology school. From the moment she stepped into the classroom, she knew she had found exactly where she was meant to be.

Today, Nicira is a Junior Stylist in Training through the SD Luxury Stylist Accelerator™ at Stella’s Daughter Salon & Wellness Center. She is committed to expanding her knowledge of healthy hair care, luxury client experiences, advanced styling techniques, and professional salon practices while continuing to refine her technical skills.

Nicira believes that hair is much more than a style—it’s a reflection of confidence, individuality, and self-care. Her goal is for every guest to leave her chair feeling beautiful, empowered, and like the very best version of themselves.

When she’s not in the salon, Nicira enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends. They remain her greatest source of inspiration and continually remind her of the importance of connection, compassion, and creating meaningful experiences—both inside and outside of the salon.

Salon Concierge / Jr. Stylist

Originally from Roanoke, Virginia, Shontel Carson joined Stella’s Daughter Salon & Wellness Center in 2023 and has quickly become a valued part of the salon experience. As Salon Concierge, Shontel is often one of the first smiling faces guests encounter when entering the salon. Her warm personality, professionalism, and attention to detail help create the luxury guest experience Stella’s Daughter is known for.

In her role as Salon Concierge, Shontel assists with guest care, scheduling support, salon flow, and ensuring each client feels welcomed, comfortable, and cared for throughout their visit. 

Her NEW role as a Junior Stylist, she continues to grow her artistry through advanced education, hands-on training, and mentorship within the salon environment.

Shontel has a passion for creating creative and sculpted styles that allow guests to express their individuality while maintaining healthy hair. Her artistic eye, patience, and eagerness to learn make her a rising talent within the beauty industry.

Outside of the salon, Shontel enjoys spending quality time with her grandchildren and family, creating meaningful memories with the people she loves most.

 The Salon Support Concierge is one of the most important position in Stella’s Daughter Salon & Wellness Center. It is very important that our clients receive a CONSISTENT, QUALITY EXPERIENCE every time they call or arrive at the salon.

 Mentee / Salon Assistant

Selina Sellers has proudly called Winston-Salem home since 2006. Her passion for hairstyling began at an early age, where she enjoyed creating unique styles on friends and family while developing her creativity and love for the beauty industry.

Her professional journey began through the Cosmetology Program at the Career Center during high school, later continuing her education at Empire Beauty School in Winston-Salem, where she graduated in 2025. Shortly after graduation, Selina successfully earned her North Carolina Cosmetology License after passing her State Board examinations.

Selina is currently a mentee and intern within the SD Luxury Stylist Accelerator Program at Stella’s Daughter Salon & Wellness Center, where she is continuing to strengthen her technical skills, professionalism, and luxury salon experience under the guidance of Artistic Director Reanee McManus and the Stella’s Daughter styling team.

She has a growing passion for hair color, curly hair care, braiding, and healthy hair treatments. During her mentorship, Selina is especially excited to expand her education in healthy hair care, client experience, and advanced styling techniques within a high-performance salon environment.

Her goal is to create an experience where every guest feels confident, beautiful, and cared for while building healthy, manageable hair from the inside out.

Outside of the salon, Selina enjoys art, music, painting, discovering new sounds, and spending time outdoors.

Senior Stylist 

Meet Thalia Gibson, a proud resident of Winston-Salem, NC since 2005, originally hailing from the charming city of Macon, Georgia.

Thalia's journey into the realm of hairstyling commenced immediately after high school, as she followed her passion to Empire Beauty School. Graduating in 2015 with determination and perseverance, she further refined her skills at Winston-Salem State University, mastering the art of professionalism and communication, attributes she applies daily in the salon.

Since childhood, Thalia has been enamored with hairstyling, even teaching herself how to braid. Her true passion lies in the realm of healthy hair braiding, offering expertise in knotless or traditional braids, feed-ins, twisted styles, and innovative designs incorporating healthier alternatives.

At Stella's Daughter Salon, Thalia is fulfilling her hair dreams, offering a spectrum of services from invigorating shampoos to natural styles, to dynamic hair coloring, sleek silk presses to top-notch conditioning treatments. Her sights are set on expanding her expertise in hair coloring to achieve the status of a Master Hair Colorist.

In the future, Thalia aspires to co-establish her own salon, teaming up with her sister, a talented massage therapist, to create a sanctuary of beauty and relaxation.

A fascinating tidbit about Thalia – she's an avid animal lover with a keen interest in gaining knowledge about pet grooming for our feline and canine companions.

Thalia's fervor lies in promoting hair growth and maintaining healthy locks. She staunchly believes that everyone deserves to feel beautiful!

Owner & CEO / Artistic Director / Master Stylist / Educator / R'Mari Brand Founder

Meet Reanee Bell McManus, a proud native of Montgomery, WV, who embarked on her journey in the beauty industry over 25 years ago. Graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Cosmetology from Carolina Beauty College in 1996, Reanee has since become a licensed hairstylist, esteemed owner of Stella’s Daughter Salon & Wellness Center, a dedicated business coach, and a master educator.

Reanee’s passion lies in educating others on the significance of healthy hair care and nutrition. Throughout her illustrious career, she has amassed a plethora of certifications in salon management, haircutting, and hair coloring, showcasing her expertise as a platform artist for renowned brands like Design Essentials, Simply Red Hair Care, and Cocco Hair Pro Tools.

Her pursuit of knowledge has led her to undergo extensive training from prestigious institutions such as Dudley Cosmetology University, Design Essentials, Paul Mitchell, and many more. In 2011, she achieved her Masters as a Professional Educator from Enyada Graduate School of Mastery, reinforcing her belief that education is the cornerstone of professional advancement.

In 2019, Reanee began the visionary journey that would become R’Mari Hair Care Pro — a luxury professional hair care line. After six years of research, development, and testing, she officially launched the brand in 2025. R’Mari Hair Care Pro focuses on maximum moisture and hydration, leaving hair feeling weightless, internally nourished, and healthier than before. The brand is an extension of her lifelong mission to restore hair health and confidence for every client and professional she touches.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Reanee finds joy in her role as a mother to three beautiful daughters, a doting grandmother to her grand-girl, and a cherished companion to her grand-dog “Stella.” She indulges in her love for literature through audiobooks, treasures moments with her family, embraces laughter, silliness, and enjoys exploring the world through travel. Her compassionate nature is evident in her commitment to giving back and blessing others.

Looking ahead, Reanee envisions a future where she expands the Stella’s Daughter brand with a chain of salons while continuing to mentor aspiring stylists, technicians, educators, and industry leaders. She firmly believes in empowering her team through ongoing education, support, and shared goals — all aimed at better serving the needs of their valued guests.
